BSNL IITK Telecom Centre of Excellence (BITCOE), at IIT Kanpur, came into existence on 12th December 2007 with the signing of a tri-partite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Telecommunication, Government of India, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), during the inauguration ceremony of India Telecom 2007, presided over by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
Need for Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCOEs)
India has achieved a commendable growth rate in telecom. The real challenge before the country now is to sustain or further accelerate the growth so that the benefits reach the masses.
