TCOE India invites Associate Sponsors from amongst Telecom Manufacturers, Research Organisations, Entrepreneurs and Operators

Dept of Telecom in collaboration with premier Academic Institutes and major Telecom Operators of the country has set up Seven Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCOE) in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode for Innovation and Capacity Building for a balanced Telecom growth and penetration into the rural sector.  Each Centre under takes Research Projects jointly identified with Industry and builds expertise on a focused domain of Telecom.

The seven centres are operational for about 2 years and progressing in their quest for meeting the following objectives:

  • Application oriented Telecom R&D  jointly with the Industry
  • Capacity Building through Training the Trainers & Entrepreneur Development
  • Think Tank activity for policy advocacy
  • Influencing  Global Standards to cater for Indian needs

Under the provisions of the Tripartite MOU, TCOE India now invites Applications from Indian Telecom product manufactures, R&D organisations, New Operators and Entrepreneurs to be Associate Sponsors to these Centres of Excellence.

It is intended to admit 1-2 Industry/Entity of each category as Associate Sponsors for each Centre having convergent interest in the relevant focus area.  The associate sponsors need to commit a minimum financial contribution of Rs 40 Lakhs per year and Rs 2 Crores over 5 years which can be in the form of cash contribution, providing of equipments required by the TCOE, institution of professorship chair or sponsorship of projects of mutual interest with well defined objectives & financial implication as mutually decided with the Centres.

Associate Sponsors can enter into an agreement and IPR sharing agreements with TCOE for the project sponsored by them.  Apart from a Good Branding and access to low cost Intellectual Capital of the Premier Academic Institutes, Associate Sponsors become the member of autonomous core group/steering committee of the respective TCOE where they can participate in decision making and providing overall guidance. They also automatically become Associate Member to the TCOE Coordination centre Society wherein they can interact with other TCOEs.

The Application may be forwarded to the TCOE Coordination Centre, Second Floor, CDoT campus,  Mehraulli, New Delhi-110030. A scanned copy of the application may also be mailed to director.tcoe.cc@gmail.com . Queries, if any, may also be posted to the same mail id. The Application  should clearly indicate the following information:-

  • TCOE of choice  to be the Associate Sponsor (2 choices be given with order of preference)
  • Company profile details ( both Financial & Technical)
  • Contact person with Designation, Address, e-mail id and Tel no for further Communication
  • Capability for concurrent development & commercialisation of the Research outputs
  • Expectations from this association

Kindly apply at your earliest as only 1 or 2 Associate Sponsors will be accepted for each centre.
