TCOE International Seminar, 12th December 2008
Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India and Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCOEs) India organised an International seminar on ‘How India can become a leader in wireless communications’ on 12th December 2008 at The Oberoi Hotel, New Delhi. The seminar was organised as a part of the India Telecom 2008, 11th-13th December 2008, a much awaited Telecom event which is now in its third year.
The seminar, presided over by Shri Siddharth Behura, Secretary (Telecom), Government of India, had Mr. Malcolm Johnson, Director Telecom Standardization Bureau, ITU-T, Geneva, as the chief guest. Spread over four sessions, the seminar had eminent speakers from Government, academia and industry, including many experts from Germany, UK and US.
The seminar had the twin objectives of setting the agenda for channelizing the intellectual capital for a unique national level partnership of industry, academic institutes and the government, as it existed in TCOEs as well as to discuss and debate these with a wider audience.
The Seminar has been a resounding,much success beyond expectations, with three sessions of important and thought provoking deliberations.
