Overview

Airtel IIT Delhi Centre of Excellence in Telecommunications(AICET), at IIT Delhi, came into existence on 12th December 2007 with the signing of a tri-partite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Telecommunication, Government of India, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and Bharti Airtel Ltd., during the inauguration ceremony of India Telecom 2007, presided over by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

IIT Delhi, established in 1968, is a premier institute of technology created as centre of excellence for higher education, training, research and development in science, engineering and technology in India. IIT Delhi has contributed immensely to the cause of nation building and its faculty members and alumni have distinguished themselves in their fields of expertise.

Bharti Airtel Ltd., the principle sponsor of AICET, is the largest mobile telecom services provider of India. With its strong nationwide telecom network, Bharti Airtel is committed to provide innovative high-standard telecom services in the country.

AICET and other TCOEs have been created to meet the broad objectives of capacity building, impetus to all round growth of Telecom industry including manufacturing through Application Research and to serve as think tank to the Government and Industry decision makers.
