IIMA IDEA Centre of Excellence (IITCOE) at IIM Ahmedabad came into existence on 16th October 2007 with the signing of a tri-partite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Telecommunication, Government of India, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabaad and IDEA Cellular Ltd., on the occasion of Curtain Raiser ceremony of India Telecom 2007.

IIM Ahmedabad, established in 1961, is a globally recognized management institute that shapes management practices in India and abroad by creating new frontiers of knowledge and developing ethical, dependable, entrepreneurial and socially sensitive leader-managers committed to excellence. IIM Ahmedabad has contributed immensely to the cause of nation building and its faculty members and alumni have distinguished themselves in almost every aspect of the management across the world.

IITCOE and other TCOEs have been created to meet the broad objectives of capacity building, impetus to all round growth of Telecom industry including manufacturing through Application Research and to serve as think tank to the Government and Industry decision makers.
