12th December 2007: A tri-partite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Department of Telecommunication, Government of India, IIT Kanpur and BSNL to bring BITCOE into existence.
2nd April 2008: First meeting of Core group of BITCOE took place at BSNL Corporate office, New Delhi.
on 25th Oct 2008: Second Steering Committee meeting of BITCOE took place at BSNL Corporate office, New Delhi.
